Creating a summit that makes you stand out in a crowded market is no small feat. From major events like SXSW to specialized conferences like Mobile World Congress, how do you break through the noise? If you’re Forbes, you do it by focusing on inspirational speakers, a variety of networking opportunities, once-in-a-lifetime experiences and philanthropic activities. Motivational speakers have been the hallmark of the Forbes Under 30 Summit since it began, but now in its fourth year they went above and beyond with new and noteworthy elements for all attendees. This year, the Summit brought together more than 6,000 young entrepreneurs and game-changers from around the world to convene in Boston for four days of panels, competitions, parties and more.

This year, attendees had the opportunity to hear from entertainers like Kendrick Lamar, politicians like Seth Moulton, athletes like Lindsey Vonn and business legends like Paul Tudor Jones. Forbes also recognized the current issues with gender gaps in the technology industry and hosted a specific Women@Forbes event to kick off the Summit, with speakers like Bozoma Saint John, Chief Brand Officer of Uber, and Sarah Kunst, founder and CEO of Proday.co. And after a day of speakers and panels, Forbes made sure to bring the fun with evening events like a free concert in City Hall Plaza headlined by Zedd, a bar crawl through Fenway Park, and a Food Fest with some of the world’s best young chefs at the JFK Library.

In 2016, Forbes brought the Summit to Boston and opened it to the public for the first time. With over 5,000 attendees listening to star-studded panels and participating in activities like a run along the Charles River with Michael Phelps and meditation led by Deepak Chopra, the event was a massive success. But Forbes knew they needed to take it even further for 2017’s event. This year Forbes had 200 world-class speakers, competitions for under-30 startups and filmmakers, a new Discover stage devoted to healthcare and sciences, a Service Day and Hack-a-Thon for good to close the Summit, and a scholar’s program for 1,000 recipients from diverse backgrounds to attend the Summit for free. The 2017 Summit blew expectations out of the water.

The Under 30 Summit was prominently featured in many major publications, including AP, Mashable, HuffPost, Reuters, Bloomberg, People, USA Today, The Boston Globe, InStyle, and Politico – to name a few. The Summit continues to establish itself as a can’t-miss event for young game-changers and entrepreneurs and is helping put Boston on the map as a major hub for talent, technology and conferences, and those are just a few of the many reasons why we love the Forbes Under 30 Summit.
