Business by the Beltway: What’s in Store at MarketingProfs B2B Forum

Cameron Brody

The season, fellow marketers, is upon us. That time of year that adds a little extra edge to our days and stress to our plates. While I wish I was referring to the chills and thrills of Halloween, it’s 2020 planning that’s truly anxiety inducing. Between final campaign execution, new budget allocations and measurement reassessment, the last few months of the year offer little reprieve for marketers already adjusting to constant industry-wide transformation.

With so much going on, the opportunity to step away from the chaos and connect with peers and colleagues is invaluable. Outside insight and expertise helps marketers remove their brand-colored-goggles and approach challenges with a fresh perspective. It’s exactly the antidote needed before the New Year kicks off in full.

Next week, I’ll be joining our MARKeting team at the MarketingProfs B2B Forum outside of Washington D.C. for several days of networking, panel sessions and down-and-dirty assessments of what’s happening in B2B Marketing, and where we’re headed in 2020. Here’s just a taste of the sessions I’m looking forward to most:

  • Stop Singing for Your Supper: How to Reframe the Conversation About Content ROI –Every marketer feels the pressure of drawing the red thread from their efforts to a brand’s bottom line – content marketers are no different. I’ll be looking to see how speakers Mary Ellen Slayter, CEO, Rep Cap and Lee Price, Co-founder, Managing Editor Magazine drive a meaningful conversation on what modern content looks like and how effective delivery can make all the difference.
  • The Unwritten Rules of Persuasion: The Science Behind the Words and Actions that Win People Over – In 1936, Dale Carnegie argued that making the conversation about the other person was among the strongest ways to win friends and influence people. In today’s customer-centric ecosystem, that strategy still has merit. Yet, when audiences are being bombarded unlike ever before, how can you get even more nuanced and build a real connection? Jamie Turner, CEO, 60SecondMarketer.com, is planning on answering that question.
  • Kara Swisher’s closing Keynote – Admittedly, this is me geeking out a bit, because when I found out Recode co-founder and editor-at-large Kara Swisher was closing out the conference, I could barely contain my excitement. Considered among the foremost names in technology journalism, the opportunity to hear her perspective at this unique moment in time is one I do not intend to squander.

Stay tuned for additional content from myself and the MARKeting team as we head to D.C. next week. Are you attending? Learn more about the exciting things happening at our booth (117) below!
