PAN Employee Spotlight: New York’s Senior Account Supervisor, Alexandra Evans

1. Tell me about yourself and how you came to PAN

I’ve been at PAN for four and a half years, and actually started off in our Boston office as an Account Executive before moving down to help run our New York location last year. The wonderful Cori Kendrick, who I had worked with previously, was at PAN, and when I began searching for a new opportunity, she gave me the scoop. I guess the rest you can say is history. I was immediately drawn to PAN’s culture and collaborative environment. Not to mention the view from our Boston office is second to none.

2. What’s your favorite part of the PAN NY office or culture?

The people! We are a really tight knit group and because of that, we’ve been able to shape and build a culture that is unique to us, but still very PAN. I feel fortunate in the fact that I’ve had the opportunity to get to know everyone in the office on both an individual and group level. There is always someone around to come with me to Essen, and make sure I don’t spend $20 at the hot food bar!

3. What is a typical day at PAN NY like?

For me, a typical PANhattan day starts with grabbing an am New York or metro as I leave Penn Station and head to the office. As a Senior Account Supervisor, my role focuses on account management, strategy and team member mentorship/career development. Because of this, I spend a lot of my time on the phone – whether that be with clients or teammates in other offices – talking about media strategy, planning for an upcoming event or conducting an intake call with an executive.

4. What is the most exciting thing about living in New York City and working in tech PR?

Although I don’t live in New York myself – there is something about working in New York. To me, it has always represented opportunity. I feel like the world is literally at your fingertips here. The city is always buzzing, and something is always happening. From a PR perspective, one of the best things is the access to media and the networking events. Reporters that I work with on a daily basis are often a few blocks away which has allowed me to forge stronger relationships and partnerships not only for our clients but also for PAN.

5. What drives you as a PR professional? Who do you look to for inspiration? 

For me it is seeing my clients succeed, and my team members thrive. Nothing makes me happier than a successful kick-off or delivering on a campaign. A kudos email from a client always motivates me to keep pushing myself to deliver high quality results. From a mentorship perspective, one of the most rewarding parts of my jobs is watching my team members grow and excel at their jobs.

6. How has PAN supported your growth as a PR professional?

PAN has supported me professionally in more ways than one. Since joining PAN four and a half years ago, it really has become like a second family to me – filled with people who have my back and cheer me on every step of the way. Most recently, PAN supported my decision to move back to my home state and help run the New York office. It was a very difficult decision to leave my PAN Boston family, not to mention the city itself and all my friends, but PAN supported me 110% of the way. I am extremely lucky in the fact that I get the opportunity to work with some of the best PR professionals in the business who serve as both my mentors and friends.
