My First Summer Week at PAN
Of course, the first day of any internship is interesting and exciting, but also terrifying. During my very first days at PAN, I was taught the “PAN Way”- font sizes on each document, voicemail changes every morning, and crucial scheduling techniques for the notebook. But more than just a format, I soon realized that the “PAN Way” is not simply guidelines to use in the office. It is the backbone for the entire company, through and through. Almost immediately, my first week became less terrifying, thanks largely to every team member being so friendly and eager to help.
I came to PAN as a new graduate of Syracuse University, where I was extremely fortunate to have PAN’s President and Founder Phil Nardone as a professor for my public relations classes. Based on my experiences with Phil, I knew that PAN would have nothing but authentic people and the utmost public relations practices. At school, Phil would often contribute PAN’s success to the people, and now I can see why.
Like the PAN Way for a document, I have found that the people are just as wonderfully consistent. The PAN Way truly extends to everyone in the office; their expertise is evident, and their passion is contagious. The individuals completely embody the PAN Way, on paper and in spirit, and I am looking forward to learning from everyone as my mentors.
With a warm welcome from the team and the move to Boston quickly approaching, I am excited to help share the PAN Way with the city. My first week has been so exciting and informative, and I have my new co-workers to thank, along with Liz’s amazing scheduling skills. I look forward to the summer with the fellow interns, even if it means no more Syracuse Orangemen (at least I have the Red Sox!). Following the PAN Way, I know my internship will be a great opportunity to practice public relations and learn from many experts.
