Boston’s Food Bloggers Got You Covered This Thanksgiving

If you’re like me, you’ve been assigned a dessert, entrée or side dish for Thanksgiving dinner and you still don’t know what you’re going to make. And if that’s the case, it also means that whatever you choose, you may need some help.

Cookbooks abound in my kitchen, but at the end of the day I find myself searching the web when I need to pull together a last minute meal. And when I do search for recipes – and advice on anything for that matter – I first and foremost hit my favorite blogs. There’s nothing better than getting advice and tips from the people that I know (in most cases virtually) and trust.

Luckily for us, Foodies are taking the blogosphere by storm. Don’t believe me? Even WordPress.com just launched a food blog aggregator called FoodPress dedicated to the many bloggers out there touting their recipes and more.

Here at PAN, we’re lucky to have a vibrant community of talented Boston food bloggers right in our backyard. So, in case you still don’t know what you’re bringing to the table tomorrow, here are some great ideas from some local bloggers.

For a unique side dish…

Lindsay of The Ketchup Diaries, recently made Beef Empanadas with her family and they look amazing!

If you’re in charge of bringing dessert…

We Are Not Martha borrowed a recipe from Steamy Kitchen for Pumpkin Whoopie Pies.

Jess of Sweet Amandine made a Fruits of the Forest Crumble.

And, Confessions of a Chocoholic has some Dark Chocolate Cookies with Espresso Salt that would probably make you the most popular guest tomorrow.

Were you assigned an appetizer?

Travel, Wine, and Dine has a recipe for a White Bean Truffle Dip.

And finally, do you have the daunting task of creating an entrée?

Melissa Nibbles put together a Lazy Girl’s Eggplant Parmesan.

Also, The Clean Plate Club has a fresh take on a soup recipe using cranberry beans.

I hope you enjoyed this tiny snapshot of Boston’s amazing community of food bloggers.

Good luck with your recipes and have a happy Thanksgiving!
