In 1995 I created PAN with the goal of becoming a solid mid-sized firm, prized by clients and envied by the industry. Today, we continue to invest in that success. Looking forward, our diverse clientele and talented team will help us live the mantra: don't just lead – become the best in the business.

About Phil
PAN Communications is an agency with passion, integrity and commitment – qualities that also define Phil Nardone, his life and his life’s work. Phil founded the agency in 1995, with an established track record of delivering results for clients in technology, professional services and consumer. His cross-industry experience and passion for PR have infused the agency with a creative, results-oriented DNA. PAN truly is unique in the public relations world, and the talent that the agency has attracted and results it has achieved for clients are a testament to Phil’s leadership.

From guiding weekly company-wide brainstorming sessions to building client partnerships, Phil has remained very much a part of the day-to-day magic at PAN. The effects speak for themselves: His firm has grown steadily, amassing clients of all sizes from startups to publicly traded multinationals. His talented team has garnered numerous PR industry rewards. Phil himself has enjoyed a long and illustrious career. It began at Hill & Knowlton, one of the nation’s largest PR firms, where Phil became the youngest vice president and general manager in the agency’s history. Following that early success, he served in executive roles at two of the most prominent names in fashion, Victor Costa and Neiman Marcus—as COO and vice president for PR, respectively. From there, he took the reins as vice president of Boston-based PR agency, Rourke & Company (now MS&L), gaining experience in agency management and the springboard he needed to launch his own firm.

A graduate of Syracuse University’s renowned Newhouse School of Communications, Phil has spent his career shaping the public relations industry both in New England and across the globe. As a visiting professor teaching graduate-level courses at his alma mater and as a board member of the Council of PR Firms, he continues to guide the future of the industry. In addition to running the firm and his teaching responsibilities, Phil addresses many industry groups in his speaking engagements, where recent audiences have included:

  • Society of Independent Show Organizers (SISO)
  • National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI)
  • Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT)
  • Massachusetts Software Council

Outside the PR realm, Phil is active in the community and serves on the Boards of Directors for Community Servings and Trustees of the Reservation.
