PAN Communications Launches Marketing Visionary Roundtable Series

ANDOVER, Mass. – October 18, 2010 – PAN Communications, a mid-sized public relations firm focusing on technologyconsumer and professional services, today announced the launch of its Marketing Visionary Roundtable Series. The ongoing series brings marketing executives together across different industries, from companies large and small, to discuss the state of marketing today and where it’s headed.

The first in the series took place at PAN’s office in Andover on Tuesday, August 31 and focused on the content revolution and the benefits of social media today. Social media was considered to be the top priority for marketers in 2010. A study published in eMarketer earlier this year, shows that 45.4% of respondents considered social networks a ‘top priority’ while another 42.2% deemed it ‘important.’

The roundtable was lead by moderator Eric Hellweg, online editor of Harvard Business Review and consisted of four local business leaders:

  • John Dragoon, senior vice president, chief marketing officer and channel chief at Novell
  • Lynne Bohan, vice president of Public Relations and Government Affairs at HP Hood
  • Andre Pino, principal analyst, Technology Marketing Group at Forrester Research
  • Evan Falchuk, president at Best Doctors

The discussion touched upon topics such as social media engagement levels, success stories/ROI, and how involved marketing departments are with social media. Among the interesting points raised about social media, was one discussion centered around the fact that a successful social media program takes work and many companies diving into social media are taking the wrong approach. Some don’t bother setting goals & objectives, while others aren’t clear on what it is they want to achieve. To read some interesting excerpts and quotes from the panelists and moderator, click here.

“PAN decided to put together this series in order to educate our clients, prospects and the at-large marketing/PR industry about the benefits of social media,” said Philip A. Nardone, Jr., president of PAN Communications. “Our firm is fortunate to have a unique business model in which we’re able to gather marketing gurus from completely different worlds, and ask them to come together to talk about their experiences with social media. We have many innovative clients who have grasped the importance of social media and are putting these tools to practical use, often with great results for their companies. We’re looking forward to continuing the content creation discussion and taking it in a different direction during our next roundtable.”
