PAN Communications Fuels Consumer Practice With Hire of Agency Veteran Kristin Patterson

Boston, Mass. – September 5, 2012 – PAN Communications, a public relations and digital media leader driving communications strategy for technologyconsumer engagement, and healthcare & life sciences industries, today announced the addition of Kristin Lamas Patterson, APR, as vice president of the agency’s consumer practice.

The firm also announced major promotions in finance and human resources and promoted two long-time employees to vice president and senior account manager.

Kristin brings to PAN Communications more than 15 years of experience in consumer product public relations and integrated communications, including expertise in issues management, food & nutrition communications and working with national trade associations. Prior to joining PAN Communications, Kristin worked for seven years at Mullen and most recently as vice president/account director overseeing the agency’s food & nutrition business. Kristin served as client relationship manager and directed integrated cross-agency account teams on behalf of leading consumer brands including FAGE Greek Yogurt, Gorton’s Seafood, Panera Bread, General Mills Bell Institute of Health & Nutrition and the Grain Foods Foundation, a national trade association representing the baking and milling industry. Kristin and her teams were responsible for creating a number of award-winning programs, including the Bread Art Project, a cause-marketing campaign with the Grain Foods Foundation, which raises funds to help alleviate childhood hunger in the U.S.

Prior to joining Mullen, Kristin managed integrated communications programs for a variety of consumer clients at Swardlick Marketing Group in Portland, Maine. Her clients included McDonald’s of Maine Operators Association, Mott’s and the Produce for Better Health Foundation/5 A Day, as well as Amtrak’s Downeaster and the Maine Department of Transportation. Throughout her career, Kristin has worked on notable brands such as the American Skiing Company, General Electric Plastics, Imation Corp., Schwan’s and Coca-Cola. Kristin started her career at WHDH-TV in Boston as a writer and field producer.

In her role at PAN, Kristin will be responsible for driving consumer portfolio growth and overseeing the agency’s consumer clients which already includes marquis brands such as Tiffany & Co., Travelers, and Valassis, among others.

Kristin holds a B.A. in Journalism from Emerson College and continued her education in Communications Management at Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications. Kristin lives in Newburyport with her husband and their 11-year-old daughter.

  • Elizabeth Famiglietti, who joined the firm last November, to Senior Vice President, Human Resources
  • Gary Torpey, a 10-year veteran of PAN, to Senior Vice President, Finance
  • Lisa Astor, who leads technology and healthcare IT accounts, to Vice President
  • Kyla Ruane and Kim Leadley to Senior Account Managers.
